Applebaum recently produced his award-winning, limited edition art book PreScribe/DeScribe. The two-volume art book features beautiful and arresting reproductions of Applebaum’s elaborate and beguiling musical scores. Volume 1 is an expansive anthology, representing over one hundred hand-drawn musical works, several in full color. Volume 2 is devoted to Applebaum’s enigmatic 72-foot long pictographic score, The Metaphysics of Notation. Here it is presented as a fold-out accordion book, complete with an essay about the work on the reverse.
